A research study to identify and describe beneficial and adverse effects associated with fluoroquinolone antibiotics is being conducted by Dr. Beatrice A. Golomb and her colleagues at the University of California, San Diego.  Example fluoroquinolones include Cipro or Ciprodex (ciprofloxacin), Levaquin or Tavanic (levofloxacin), Avelox or Vigamox (moxifloxacin), Zymar or Tequin (gatifloxacin), and Floxin (ofloxacin).

We are currently recruiting 10,000 participants for this study who meet either of the 2 following criteria:

  1. 1. Users of fluoroquinolone antibiotics who believe that they have experienced an adverse reaction during use and/or after cessation.

  2. - or -

  3. 2. Users of fluoroquinolones antibiotics who believe that they have tolerated them without experiencing side effects or any adverse reaction.

  4. Note: Participants from all countries are accepted, but they must be fluent in English.

If you meet either of the above criteria, we would like to invite you to participate in this voluntary study so that we can further understand the adverse effects and benefits of fluoroquinolones and report findings to the medical community (including prescribing physicians) and the general public.

The study features surveys that will focus on background health history, current health, and any Cipro side effects (ciprofloxacin side effects), Levaquin side effects (levofloxacin side effects), Avelox side effects (moxifloxacin side effects), or other fluoroquinolone side effects you may have experienced.
